Crufts is back for 2023! It's the canine event millions across the world look forward to every year and either head to the Birmingham's Resorts World Arena located in the National Exhibition Centre, or watch live on the television. Unfortunately, we're not exhibiting this year, be we can't wait to tune in and watch the event unfold on Channel 4 from the 9th-12th March. Organised by The Kennel Club, the international dog show is one of the greatest dog events in the world!
Crufts was started in 1891 by a travelling dog biscuit salesman Charles Cruft, and the event was aptly named after him. Every year, thousands of dogs and their owners attend Crufts to celebrate and share the relationship they have with each other. Crufts promotes dog agility, skill, presentation, good behaviour, well-being, and the breeding of healthy dogs, allowing owners to showcase their dog whatever the breed or speciality. The show is split into four main categories: gundog, working and pastoral, terrier and hound, and utility and toy.
From working dogs, to general dogs, dogs who work in the line of duty and dogs who have been heroes, all are celebrated and welcomed to the event. With a variety of celebrations and events including 'best in show', agility, fly ball and heel work to music, there's plenty of fun and entertainment for the crowds.
Crufts is a great opportunity to socialise and meet new breeds of dogs, catch up with furry friends that are the same breed as your dog, or get professional advice from charities, breeders, and veterinary professionals. You might even spot royalty, celebrities, or dog royalty whilst you’re there!
There are also hundreds of trade stands selling a variety of products from food, to well-being and accessories for your dogs and dog lovers.
